In this project profile, we take a look at a new residential concrete project in Byron Center, Michigan. This 4,000 square foot project included the driveway, walkways, parking and a concrete slab for a playhouse. This project began with the demolition and removal of an asphalt driveway. The Kent team then established a proper base by compacting sand and fine-grading the entire area. Concrete formwork was used to shape the driveway, the walkways and the playhouse concrete pad in the backyard.
Before & After
Kent Home Services recommended a concrete mix design specific for West Michigan’s harsh winters. Fifty yards of concrete were poured for this project. We added wire mesh to add strength and durability to the concrete. We used a standard broom finish on the concrete. Decorative pavers accented the front walkway to the home.
